Central and South America Tour

My wife and I just got back from a tour of Central and South America. Had a great time aboard the Ms Amsterdam and enjoyed entertaining the kids from Chile to the beautiful mountains of Cusco and Machu picchu. Working on a new show for the Magic Castle and hope to present it by mid September. We will be leaving on a road trip from mid March till the end of June. My Music

I Have been performing since the age of 13 and professionaly since the age of 15. I’ve spent half my life doing what I love, that is playing music or writing and creating my own. I am a singer /songwriter and a member of BMI. I have my own recording studio called Mountain Studios up in the Antelope Valley and I love all music. As of June 1st, I had my first Latin single release of a song that I wrote a Spainish version of an English song sent to me by the writer, an old friend, Tony Sansone. To my surprise it has been doing very well. It was #1 for 2 weeks on soundclick.com and # 21 in New York’s top DJ pools. It has had numerous radio play around the U.S. and in South America . Magic

Magic Shows

My magic ranges from professionally staged production styled shows with full stage set up, sound system, beautiful assistants,and large illusions to a smaller family style show which is great for company functions and special events or just walking around breaking the ice with close-up magic.

From star studded events, corporate functions to private parties, Eddy Michaels has done it all, with over 25 years plus of entertaining people. This singer/songwriter and magician resides in Southern California, just above Los Angeles. Eddy has studied with such magic legends as Jeff McBride, Eugene Burger, Lance Burton and others.
Eddy’s full stage show consists of magic with live animals, large Illusions, mentalism, slight of hands and plenty of audience participation, all choreographed to music. Looking for something in a smaller scale? Eddy’s stand up comedy magic is just as funny and very entertaining. So what ever the event, how about adding a touch of magic. Remember magic is that ” something extra” you can add to heighten your party or special event to insure it’s success! Eddy Michaels will keep your guest’s not only laughing, but dazed and confused!

About Me

I was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York City when I was 8 years old. By the time I was 11 years old, I started playing drums with local garage bands. By the time I was 15, I was offered a job as a rythmn guitarist for one of the top bands in the area called the Four Aces. The problem was that I did not play guitar. I was a drummer, but the leader of the band wanted me because he liked the way I sang. I learned as many chords as I could and became the rythmn guitar/singer of the band. During the late sixties, at age 17, I found myself working at clubs such as The Bitter End in the Village and one of the most prestigious clubs in New York called the Cheetah. By 1969, we had our first recording contract with Musicor Records under the name of The Five O’clock News and hit the road promoting our single ‘Waiting for the Morning” which was written by Freddie Forte and our manager and co writer of the hit song “Walk away Renee” by the Leftbanke, Tony Sansone. After a few years of touring, tv shows and some succes the band broke up.

The journey was great and I learned so much about music and people that I became a singer/songwriter and had some works published with Chappel Music, Peer Southern Music and CAM USA. I moved to California in 1978 and hooked up with a cover band called “Punch” which worked all the top clubs in southern California. After 2 years of doing the club scene, I got burnt out and decided to get my first none musical gig. That’s where I met my wife. In 1982 we got married and wev’e just celebrated our 26th anniversary.

In 1987 I got interested in magic and figuring I was too old to be a rock star, I became a magician. I have been doing magic for over 20 years. I have performed and worked with such people as Shaquille O’Neal, Kathy Ireland, Tyra Banks, John Sully and others. I’ve done shows for organizations such as Atheletes and Entertainers for Kids, Knights of Columbus, Los Angeles County, Woman of the Year Awards Show, Wyndham Dominicus Palace in the Dominican Republic, Shanagan Cultural Village in Hazyview, South Africa and hundreds of private parties and special events. I love people and enjoy bringing smiles and a little bit of happiness into their lives. I am an entertainer, and I love my job!
